It’s almost Halloween, and that means it’s time for candy, costumes and creepy scary movies!

Daniel and are going to trick-or-treat locally this year. Every year, I host a Halloween party at my home because I live in a building with many apartments. My friends and their families and children love to come over to trick-or-treat! Daniel is getting a little older, so this year may be the last year of trick-or-treating and we are definitely taking advantage!

Photos are priceless, and you never realize how much you truly treasure them until you take the time to look through your photo albums. I found this photo of me (when I was four years old!) and my mother, and I was filled with so many wonderful emotions.

Seeing the joy in my mother’s eyes while I held my newborn almost twelve years ago is a moment and a memory I will treasure always. I simply don’t know how to describe the pure joy of being a mother myself.

There’s never a day I’m not mindful of how lucky I am to have my mother in my life. For those of you who are fortunate to still have your mothers, or even that special someone who has been like a mom to you, please know you are truly blessed. And for those who have lost your mothers or the person in your life who was like a mother to you, you’re in my thoughts and in my heart. Since my father passed away, I know how hard it is so lose someone you love, and my heart goes out to you.

I think Mother’s Day is not only about mothers, but about women everywhere! Women should be celebrated and applauded (all the time!) because we are all caregivers at some point or another, whether to children, elderly or even our dearest friends.

Take a moment to pat yourself on the back this Mother’s Day or even buy yourself a gift because you deserve it, girlfriends.
